Design Manifesto: Booklet Layout and Typography
Graphic Design
Typography

Background
This was an academic project for GIT 303: Digital Publishing. The purpose of the assignment was to develop both design thinking and technical skills, with a focus on hierarchy, readability, and designing for print.
Problem
The project required designing a booklet that balances readability with visual creativity through typesetting and layout.
Process
Sketched multiple layout variations, accounting for print requirements including margins, bleed, and gutters.
Selected one layout to develop using a grid structure, focusing on typographic hierarchy and visual composition.
Spacing, bolded words, font size, and color were used intentionally to guide the reader’s eyes.
Refined the design based on peer feedback to improve readability.
Results
The final booklet presents the essay in a readable, print-ready format focused on typography and visual hierarchy.
